Agnete Friis

Agnete Friis (married name Varn) reached the final in all three categories at All England without, however, winning any of them. In 1953 she lost the singles final to Marie Ussing. That same year the two of them lost the final to Iris Cooly and June White, Britain. In the third final, mixed doubles with Poul Holm, they were defeated by Eddy Chong and June White. Agnete Friis became Danish Champion in women's singles in 1941 and 1944 and nine times in women's doubles from 1941-1958. She played for the national team until the end of the 50’s.
